Rangeview Parents and Guardians:

December 13, 2017

There have been rumors of a reported threat that have concerned some of our students and parents this morning. Please know that we take all threats seriously and work closely with law enforcement to investigate them. In this case, we found the threat was not credible, but as a precaution, we had increased security at the school today.

I want to assure you that we would not ask students or staff members to report to school if we had any reason to believe that we had a credible threat. In such a situation, we would cancel school and proceed with an investigation.

As always, we encourage our students to report any safety concerns to a trusted adult or through Safe-2-Tell. Also, please take a moment to speak with your student about the seriousness of making threats and spreading rumors through social media.

I appreciate the support of our APS security officers and the Aurora Police Department. Student and staff safety is our top priority at Rangeview. Thank you for working with us to keep our school safe.
