Did you know that over half of all of the cases that go through the Aurora court system involve domestic and family violence? There are places like the Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter that help victims of domestic violence. They offer women and their children a safe place to stay until they can get on their feet. This shelter is in need of new and gently used children’s toys and books, as well as diapers for toddlers. SIC will have a collection box set-up in the Post-Grad Center through the end of March for donations. Please help us make the lives of the children affected by domestic violence better. For more information see Mrs. Atencio or Mrs. Lanier in the Counseling office.
