Attendance Policy – Skipping Classes

Students, Parents & Guardians:
Starting on Tuesday, 1/16/18, we will be implementing a new policy for students caught skipping classes. The first time they are caught, they will be placed in In-School Suspension and sign a Trespassing contract. Anytime they are caught on campus skipping classes after that, they will be issued a Trespassing ticket from our School Resource Officer and walked directly to class.
Also, we have noticed an increase in the number of students wearing midriffs and ripped jeans that are torn above the knee. Our dress code policy prohibits these and students caught wearing these items will be asked to change.

Construction & Traffic Information

Our transportation department has designated the south parking lot off of Telluride Street as a pickup zone for buses only. That parking lot is also designated as a staging area for construction starting on Monday, December 4th. Please do not drop off students in the bus lane in the south parking lot. Please drop off students in the west parking lot in the front of the school only.

Dear Rangeview Parents/Guardians:

We are grateful to the citizens of Aurora who approved our $300 million bond measure in November 2016, which will make improvements at every school in APS and benefit every student. Bond-funded construction for Rangeview will begin over winter break and is expected to be complete in summer 2018.

Rangeview’s bond improvements include a six-classroom addition, interior remodeling and updates to several classrooms and corridors throughout the building. These bond-funded improvements will provide benefits for many programs at Rangeview including:

  • STEM - brand new classrooms and technology
  • Special Education - new classrooms designed to better support learning
  • Journalism and Broadcast Media - remodeled classroom and studio for cutting edge broadcasting
  • Physical Education and Athletics - renovations to weight and speed training rooms
  • Visual and Performing Arts - updates to the Art Department and increased resources

In addition, these improvements will also allow us to increase capacity throughout our building and make the best use of the space in our school.

Construction will be ongoing throughout the spring semester with increased work during school breaks when students and staff are not present. Student and staff safety is a top priority at Rangeview, and school leadership will make classroom adjustments to minimize disruption and noise during construction.

In addition, this project will require a partial lot closure to our staff parking lot, which will have minimal impact to staff. There will be no impacts to student parking or traffic in and around Rangeview.

We look forward to completing these improvements to our school and appreciate your patience during our bond project. To follow Rangeview’s construction progress or learn more about bond projects at Aurora Public Schools, visit

Executive Internship Program for the 2018-19 School Year

Current Juniors who are interested in participating in an internship during their senior year are welcome to apply for the Executive Internship Program through Pickens Technical College. The program allows high school seniors to spend one or two semesters with a professional from a variety of possible career fields. As an intern you will be assisting your sponsor and learning job-related responsibilities. This is also a great opportunity to also gain leadership skills and connect with professionals.

Applicants should have a 2.75 or higher cumulative GPA. Applications are due by Wednesday, Dec. 20th to the Rangeview Counseling Office. More information and the application can be found using the link below. Applications can also be picked up in the RHS Counseling Office. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Moriarity in the Counseling Office.

School of Rock

Students in Modern Band class have joined this class from beginning guitar or beginning piano as well as an assortment of band and choir students.  Modern Band offers enriching opportunities for students to work on musical skills such as performance, composition, and improvisation.  Perhaps even more important, students hone personal lifetime skills such as teamwork, collaboration, organization, and preparation.
