CAMPUS UPDATES-  

  • Congratulations to the staff of The Raider Review, who combined to win 19 statewide awards from the Colorado Student Media Association this year for its reporting, writing, photos, and videos. Led by Editor-in-Chief Dominque Harlan, The Review took home the most awards of any big school student media website in Colorado this year, marking the third year in a row The Review has led the state in awards won. Well done, Reviewers.

  • Attention Rangeview Students this week is Mental Health Awareness week and Student Leadership will be hosting an entire week of events. Please join student leadership today for a spa and retreat after school starting at 4:30. Events include yoga and meditation room, stress ball making, painting, snacks and more. This event is free! On Wednesday, May 1st, Student leadership will be hosting bubble soccer at 6:00 pm on the RHS turf. There will also be speakers and events during A and B lunch all week long.
  • There is a Senior meeting on Tomorrow during 3rd hour in the gym.  You will be excused over the intercom after the daily announcements.  Please go to your 3rd-hour class first.
  • The rescheduled Junior Escort Meeting will be Wednesday, May 1st during 3rd. Hour.  You will be excused from your class after your teacher takes attendance and after announcements.  For questions, please see Ms. Wolfe in the main office.

It will only cost $25 for admission plus 500 paintballs. We will have a meeting this Friday. Again see Ms. Allen in 203 to sign up or for details.
  • This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Rangeview Theatre Department proudly presents Chicago.  Come watch an exciting story of crime, consequence, and victory. The music and choreography are spectacular.  Tickets are $6 for students with an activity card, $7 without and Senior Citizens and $8 for adults.

CAMPUS UPDATES-  

  • An important message from Counseling: Students, next week you will begin meeting with your counselors during assigned times to build your schedules for next year. Students who miss or arrive late to their meeting will have their schedules built for them by their counselor, so make sure you arrive on time. Please check your school email for complete instructions. Meeting times will be included in this email as well as posted by the RR's. If you've forgotten which courses you requested for next year, you can pick up a copy of your course requests by the RR's today during lunch or after school to begin planning for your meeting. Please reach out to your counselor if you have any questions.

Rangeview High School was just announced as the 2019 Special Olympics Colorado School of the Year for all of the opportunities we provide for our students with disabilities to be included and participate in typical school experiences that they have not had access to previously. Do you want to help include students with disabilities and teach them sportsmanship and work ethic on our unified school soccer team this Spring? No experience playing soccer necessary! Join the Inclusion Revolution and see how to can get involved today! Come see Ms. Warner in RM 114 by the cafeteria for more information! CAMPUS UPDATES-  

  • University of Colorado at Denver Scholar's program applications are due to Ms. Simoneau in the counseling office by this Thursday, March 21st to be considered for the program next year.  Interviews will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd from 11:30 to 1:30 in the College & Career Center.
  • A reminder that students have until this Friday to make changes to their course requests for next year. Check your email for instructions on how to make changes in Infinite Campus in case you have forgotten. Contact your counselor if you have any questions.
  • If you have lost anything this quarter, then go check out the lost and found. Everything will be donated over spring break.

  • Raiders, the girls golf team is putting together a putt-a-thon for their fundraiser this year. They are asking for your support. You can see any golfer to make your pledge. CAMPUS UPDATES-  

  • The speech and debate team kicked some serious butt at the City Championships at DU this weekend. Chris Cambonga and Pearl Bilson made it to Quarterfinals, Myriam Alcala and Ariana Jones made it to semi-finals. Chris won 3rd for a novice policy speaker, Blessed Asare won 2nd. Myriam won 2nd for varsity policy speaker and Ariana won 1st. Which led the Rangeview debate team to win the overall debate sweepstakes. For speech events Sebla Abbady won 6th in oratory, Emanuelle won 2nd. Emanuelle was also a semi-finalist in impromptu, and won 3rd in Student Congress. RHS swept the competition of slam poetry with Kathy Pham placing 3rd, Emanuelle 2nd and Sebla winning the event. Lastly, Rangeview won 2 season awards. Yeabsera Fitsum won the debate rising star and Ariana Jones finished her debate career by winning the Maximo Corrada award which is a very high honor. Congrats Rangeview!

Auditions will be held in the choir room.  Sign up for an audition time and get an audition form from the blue call board behind the auditorium. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Anderson in the theatre.

This incredible event will bring together students, teachers, and professionals from the arts right here in our school.   • Rangeview is hosting a Find Your Future Friday - Pickens Technical College; a chance for you to meet and talk to Pickens instructors and students about the different programs offered at Pickens. We would love if you could participate! The event is this Friday 10/07/2018  and runs from 10:30 - 12:15. Pizza is provided for lunch. This will be “speed dating” style with you moving from program to program every couple of minutes. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Gessesse in the College and Career Center!   • Pickens Technical College is hosting an OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, November 16th  from 4:30-7:00. This event is open to ALL students, families, and community members! Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about all programs, ask questions, meet instructors, and visit classrooms. Need a ride? Transportation will be provided to the first 45 students who sign up in the counseling office. Bus leaves Rangeview at 4:45 pm and returns from Pickens at 6:45 pm.

  • The first debate tournament of the year went really well. Ella Bonsu and Sebla Abbady received silver for speech events and Kathy Pham won gold. Yeabsara was the 9th novice speaker and Halenda was the 4th. Blessed was the 10th varisty speaker and Myriam was 6th. Overall in debate Angelina and Mekhi, Mary and Keyana, and Blessed won bronze. Halena and Pratikcha won silver. And Jamie and Yeabsara, and Myriam and Ariana won gold. Lastly, Ella and Sebla placed top 3 for slam poetry. Please congratulate them!

  • Any girl interested in playing basketball this season, there is open gym pre-season practice starting on November 5th. Tryouts will begin the following week.   • Congradulations to the Cross Country teams! Boys Varsity won EMACs for the second year in a row! Luke Sundberg placing 1st, Ryan Slocum in 4th, Aser Albachew in 7th, Alex Woldetatyos in 11th and Nick Provancal in 12th. Girls Varsity had a great race placing 6th out of 11 teams with Chloe Wetzel placing 12th and Caroline Smith in 19th!

  • Hi, Raiders!  The Advanced Ceramics and Makeup Effects class will be giving zombie makeovers this Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8-noon in the art department for Zombie Crawl in Denver. We will turn you into a zombie for $15, which includes all prosthetics, makeup, and fake blood.  See Mrs. Ryan in art with questions or to sign up.
  • The first school play of the year, She Kills Monsters, is this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  She Kills Monsters is the story of a girl who must take part in an action-packed adventure in an imaginary world to learn more about her sister.  Tickets are seven dollars for students and six dollars with an activity card. They can be purchased at the bookkeeper or at the door.

  • Voter Registration is happening in the Main Hall today and tomorrow. Any student who is at least 16 years of age, a US Citizen and also has 1 of these things:  a colorado driver's license, a driving permit, a Colorado ID or the last 4 numbers of your Social Security can register.
  • Are you interested in joining The National Honor Society?  The NHS Application for the 2018-2019 school year is posted on the Rangeview Homepage, on the NHS club page, and on Mr. Siebenthal's webpage.  This Google Form Application is due by 3:30 PM on Wednesday, October 24th!
